Community Involvement

Madison Public Art Project

I have had the pleasure to be a part of the Madison Public Art Project that is featuring the Wildflowers of Wisconsin. After attending one of the community workshops, I was invited to help out with teaching future workshops. Along with helping to teach some of the community workshops, I have had the opportunity to create the flowers that will be a part of this installation. Another fiber artist was commissioned to design the different flower crochet patterns for the project. So far the flowers have included: Black Eyed Susan, Wild Blue Violet and Butterfly Milkweed. It has been a great opportunity to bring the community of crocheters from beginners to well experienced crocheters together to create a beautiful piece of fiber artwork. This is a massive crocheted wildflowers project that will be a part of a bigger installation at McKee Farms in Fitchburg later this year 2024.

Anyone interested in participating in one of the upcoming workshops can sign up for free. All the materials are provided. All the flower patterns are available online and finished flowers can be dropped off at the next workshop or mailed in. For more information visit:
